Robert E. Sims, D.M.D., M.S.D.

Dr. Sims grew up in the small Kentucky town of Flemingsburg. He moved to Lexington, Kentucky in 1978 to begin his higher education at the University of Kentucky, where he earned his bachelor's degree (biology), master's degree (microbiology), dental degree (D.M.D.), orthodontics certificate and master's in dentistry (M.S.D.).
While in dental school, Dr. Sims received various research and clinical awards including: the American Association for Dental Research Award, the American Association of Orthodontists Award, the Quintessence Award for Research Achievement, and the Henry M. Thorton Fellowship Award from the Student Clinicians of the American Dental Association. Dr. Sims has also published articles and abstracts in national and international dental journals. Dr. Sims has been certified by the Amercian Board of Orthodontics and is now a Dipolmate of the American Board of Orthodontists.
Dr. Sims is involved in national and local orthodontic and dental organizations, including: Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society, the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, Southern Association of Orthodontists and the Nashville Dental Society.
He enjoys golf, snow skiing, and scuba diving. Dr. Sims has been involved in the Cathedral of the Incarnation choir since 1994. He is married to Laura and they have two daughters - Laura Hanson and Audrey.
